Navarone

When Andy Greenwell formed The Guns Of Navarone in 1985 with his two friends Lucas Foster and Ricky Thom, his mission was clear from day one… win the NSG National Championships.

Although teams like the Unknown Rebels, Atlanta Blue and others were early powerhouse teams, Navarone was different. They were the first known team to deploy an extensive playbook. The team’s players had designated positions on the field, also a first. They were the first known team to not only play every week, but to incorporate a workout schedule, scrimmages against other teams and institute a system of recognition for players that excelled in practices and later in events.

Navarone became the first sponsored team in the game’s history when they struck a major sponsorship deal with Marty Tripes of JT Paintball, then called JT Racing, in 1986.
